Description of the Role:

  • Provide legal counsel on a wide range of corporate law issues, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and transformation, compliance, and contract negotiation.
  • Steer, organize and prepare corporate legal matters for domestic and international group companies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate national and international complex contracts, agreements, and other legal documents with a focus on commercial law based on EU and Bulgarian legislation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure legal compliance and support business objectives.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings.
  • Manage external legal counsel when necessary.
  • Advise on regulatory and compliance matters relevant to the IT consulting industry.
  • Coordinate internal data protection efforts.
  • Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures. Develop legal guidelines and conduct training sessions.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends, particularly those in Bulgaria and the EU, to provide proactive legal advice.
  • Participate in various projects (e.g., ESG certification, implementation of AI and related EU directives).

Required Qualifications:

  • Completed law degree with focus on Bulgarian legislation.
    • Strong advantage: law degree or qualification in German or Austrian law.
  • Several years of professional experience, ideally more than 3 years in a company, preferably in the IT industry or a business law-oriented law firm.
  • Broad professional experience, especially in drafting and negotiating contracts with international relevance.
  • Solid knowledge in IT law as well as knowledge in corporate law, data protection law, and labour law is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of business contexts.
  • Enjoy working with colleagues from various departments.
  • Highly proactive, independent and reliable working style.
  • Excellent English and Bulgarian language skills, German skills are an advantage.
