This is your job:

  • Technical knowledge: Penetration testers need to have a strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and web applications, as well as the ability to use tools and techniques for identifying vulnerabilities and exploiting them.
  • Networking skills: Knowledge of networking protocols, topologies, and technologies is essential for a penetration tester, as they need to be able to navigate and manipulate network infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Programming and scripting skills: Many penetration testing tools and techniques require knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with operating systems: Understanding how different operating systems work and how to identify and exploit vulnerabilities within them is critical for a penetration tester.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking: Penetration testers need to be able to think creatively and strategically in order to identify and exploit vulnerabilities that may not be immediately obvious.
  • Communication and report-writing skills: Penetration testers often need to explain their findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders, so strong communication and report-writing skills are important.
  • Ethical mindset: A penetration tester must act with integrity and in compliance with professional standards and laws, and must have a deep understanding of the legal, ethical, and professional standards of the field.

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in the fields of information security, cyber security, IT or equivalent
  • Good understanding of English language
  • Any related security assessment certificates are considered a plus.
