Key Responsibilities

  • Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Tester will assist with all testing and documentation of applications and programs to ensure they are completed promptly within budgetary guidelines mutually agreed upon with the project/ delivery manager. The incumbent will be expected to consistently produce high-quality results that meet business needs, while ensuring the analysis, design, and development are based upon requirements and desired functionality defined by the business and produce quality results that meet business objectives and timelines.
  • Essential Job Functions:
  • Verify & Validate process in terms of activities (testing, code inspection, etc.), methods, tools, etc.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement System/UAT testing strategy, test plans, test processes, test scenarios, and test cases based on CMMI standards
  • Create test estimation templates, if required
    Identify test cases and those that can be automated
  • Create and maintain a business requirement for test result mapping
  • Develop scripts for each of the test cases for automation
  • Train staff to use Test automation suites/ products, such as Mercury, QTP, etc., if required
  • Document Standards and Guidelines for scripting
  • Install guide and User manual for the test automation scripts
  • Provide leadership and best practices experience for definition and implementation for the process areaProvide guidance and support to Project Manager for implementing the defined process
  • Provide necessary training to team members
  • Reconcile data between source and target systems as part of data migration testing and production cut over
  • Communicate with Business/Systems Analysts and Developers to understand/clarify requirements
  • Participate in PPQA reviews and audits of project activities and work products to ensure compliance with documented plans, procedures, and standards
  • Provide technical information for Change Requests meetings
  • Participate in systems requirement reviews and team meetings
  • Participate in production support and troubleshooting
  • Participate in collection and review of quantitative data related to software testing and development activities for measurement and analysis
  • Identify, report, and manage defects in defect tracking system
  • Provide regular updates to the Test/Project Manager
  • Provide testing status reports per Project requirements and provide input to the
  • Project Plans and Processes
  • Identify and communicate risks to Project team

Needed qualifications:

  • Educational Qualifications and Experience: a degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering
  • Role Specific Experience: 8+ years of experience in QA, Test, and development.
  • Extensive experience in financial technology and Banking & Financial domain experience, along with knowledge of investment banking, Portfolio accounting systems, and trading applications
  • Related Certifications:
    ISTQB
    CSTE (preferred)
  • Required Skills/Abilities:
    Ability to use collaborative skills to work with application managers, database administrators, system administrators, and users
    High level of maturity to guide and select procedures that add value and comply with CMMI requirements
    Expert understanding of technology environment, such as Oracle development environment, Unix, Java, WSAD, WebSphere, and Oracle application server
  • Desired Skills/Abilities (not required but a plus):
    Experience with software test suites like Mercury, QTP, Test Director, WinRunner, etc.
  • 8 + years of experience
