Description of the position: The role is hands-on and execution-focused, with responsibility for conducting research, synthesizing findings, and sharing insights to inform product and service decisions. The User Researcher will help ensure user needs are understood and represented throughout the delivery lifecycle, while working within established design and product frameworks.

This is your job

  • Plan and conduct user research across ITSOP engagements, including discovery, generative, and evaluative research activities.
  • Select and apply appropriate research methods based on project needs, timelines, and constraints.
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings into clear, practical insights.
  • Create research artifacts such as usability reports, personas, journey maps, and summaries as required.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to integrate research into agile delivery cycles.
  • Maintain regular communication with internal Design and Product teams to ensure alignment of research goals and outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve research efficiency and consistency within ITSOP.
  • Be familiar with, and stay current on, design best practices and standards.

Your qualifications

  • Strong portfolio of past work, or something that can be shared showcasing that work.
  • A minimum of five years experience conducting user research, including experience translating user research insights into actionable design recommendations.
  • Proven experience with using user research and analytics tools to provide product concrete recommendations.
  • Proficiency and/or knowledge of industry-standard design tools, including Figma, Invision, Optimal Workshop, and Dovetail.
  • Strong design skills, good grasp of visual hierarchy and ability to create clean designs that follow best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Information Architecture principles and best practices, and ability to create organized, intuitive interfaces.
